In occasione del 40’ anniversario della Festa della Castagna (1970 – 2010) il Maestro Medagliere Giuseppe Grava, ci ha donato quest’opera unica all’interno del percorso: un graffito. La festa è un omaggio al prodotto principe delle nostre colline, i marroni di Colmaggiore. La festa nasce con lo specifico intento di sostenere e finanziare l’allora Polisportiva. Associazione che dava ai ragazzi la possibilità di praticare varie discipline sportive.
L’opera rappresenta la medaglia, realizzata dallo stesso Bepi Grava nel 1978 e riproduce la frazione di Colmaggiore.
La particolarità della tecnica utilizzata è che per far emergere il soggetto l’artista toglie, ovvero “graffia”, l’intonaco sovrapposto nei vari strati e colori diversi, e non aggiunge come nelle altre opere realizzate con i colori. La difficoltà della tecnica del graffito sta nel realizzare e concludere tutta l’opera in giornata con l’intonaco fresco, non ci possono essere quindi ne indecisioni ne correzioni in corso che ne comprometterebbero il risultato finale.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Chestnut festival (1970-2010) the master medal-maker Giuseppe Grava created a unique work in this itinerary: a graffiti. The festival is a homage to the main product of our hills, the chestnuts of Colmaggiore. The festival was created with the specific purpose to sustain and finance what was then called the Polisportiva (multiple sport center).
The work represents the medal made in 1978 by Giuseppe “Bepi” Grava and depicts the village of Colmaggiore.
A particular aspect of this technique is that the artist has to scratch (in italian “graffiare”, hence the word graffiti) and therefore remove the plaster at various levels, not adding any kind of material to an existing surface as in traditional artworks. The complexity of such a technique lies in the fact that the entire work has to be completed while the plaster is still fresh, thus not allowing more than one day to finish. For this reason, there is no place for any correction or uncertainty that would compromise the quality of the result.

Zum 40. Jahrestag des Kastanien-Festes (1970 – 2010) hat der Medaillon Giuseppe Grava uns diese Oper geschenkt: ein Graffiti. Das Fest ist eine Hommage an das Produkt unserer Hügel: die Kastanien von Colmaggiore. Das Fest soll die alte Polisportiva unterstützen und finanzieren. Die Polisportiva war ein Verein, der den Kindern die Möglichkeit gab, verschiedene Sportarten zu betreiben. Das Werk stellt die Medaille dar, die von demselben Urheber (Bepi Grava) im Jahr 1978 gefertigt wurde und spielt Colmaggiore nach.
Mit der Graffiti-Technik muss der Autor, um das Motiv sichtbar zu machen, den überlappenden Putz in den verschiedenen Schichten und Farben zerkratzen. Die Schwierigkeit dieser Technik besteht darin, die ganze Arbeit am Tag mit frischem Putz zu vollenden: Unschlüssigkeit und Korrekturen nicht möglich.
