Dal latte al formaggio

Ubicazione: Colmaggiore di Sopra – Facciata latteria sociale

Autore: Gabriele Cattarin

Anno realizzazione: 2013

Tecnica: Pittura murale

Latteria (The dairy shop)

Location: Colmaggiore di Sopra (municipality of Tarzo) – Side facade of the social dairy shop

Author: Gabriele Cattarin

Year of creation: 2013

Technique: wall painting

This wall painting extends to the whole side facade of the social dairy shop of Tarzo and Revine-Lago. It depicts the various phases of milk processing, from the milking to the finished cheese, through the curdling, the pressing, the salting and the seasoning. Some of the people represented are actual reproductions of real people working or having worked at the shop. It is necessary to understand that in the past there was a strong bond between the inhabitants of the territory and the dairy shop. Many of them had one or two milk cows. That means they could produce milk that was then taken to the milk factory for cheese-making. Having cheese meant being able to sustain family members when food was scarce. The cheese was often exchanged through barter.

The work is a sort of flier that gives information about what one can find inside. The production methods are important to this day and it was thus decided to exhibit them in such a clear and eye-catching way. The factory nowadays produces both cow-milk and goat-milk cheese and still manages to bring pride to our territory.

Von der Milch zum Käse

Standort: Colmaggiore di Sopra – Facciata latteria sociale

Autor: Gabriele Cattarin

Jahr: 2013

Technik: Wandmalerei
